  • Alexander Technique teacher Eleanor Taylor, m.AmSAT, maintains a private teaching studio in Manhattan, where she specializes in working with actors and singers to improve performance, prevent injury and reduce anxiety using the Alexander Technique. She is on the faculty of the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale as a Lecturer in Acting. She has also taught at the Manhattan School of Music and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and is on the summer faculty of Respiro Opera’s young artist program. Additionally, she teaches at the Riverside Initiative for the Alexander Technique, where she has developed the “Breathing & Voice” course for trainees in their teacher certification program. She offers private lessons at her Union Square studio and online, as well as small group classes for performers. She is also a certified instructor in Jessica Wolf’s Art of Breathing method, and holds B.M. and M.M. degrees in vocal performance from New England Conservatory and the University of Minnesota. Eleanor is currently the Chair Elect of AmSAT, and is a member of the peer-review board for the Alexander Journal.
