About

Fanny Wyrick-Flax, m.AmSAT, began studying the Alexander Technique in 2011 and completed her teacher certification in 2022. In private lessons and group classes, Fanny helps people to access efficiency, coordination, and confidence in their daily lives.

Drawing from her background as a classically-trained flutist, Fanny works with performing artists to address and prevent performance-related injuries, cultivate openness and curiosity in the practice room, and tap into balanced fluidity and resonance on stage.

Fanny attended the Riverside Initiative for the Alexander Technique, where she trained with Nanette Walsh, Lori Schiff, Caren Bayer, and Ariel Carson.

Fanny is a faculty member of The Juilliard School, where she teaches Alexander Technique courses for musicians in the College Division and in the Preparatory Division. Fanny also serves as Assistant Faculty at the Riverside Initiative for the Alexander Technique. She has presented workshops and masterclasses in the Alexander Technique at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts, Pianophoria!, Orchestrating Dreams, and the Sapientia Center’s AT for All program. Fanny was also an Assistant Faculty member in Alexander Technique at Manhattan School of Music and at The Fordham Theatre Program.

Fanny teaches private lessons in New York City.
