About

Active participation in our embodiment is potentially one of the great pleasures of life. It’s possible to move fluidly and efficiently, working consciously with our inherent design. The imagination is engaged, practically, in this process.

Designing group classes and private lessons that invoke pleasure, ease, self-governance and imagination is at the heart of my teaching, which spans almost 40 years and several continents, teaching in arts venues around the world.

When relevant, I bring my background in performance and movement arts to my teaching. I am certified in the Art of Breathing (2003). It’s wonderful being able to guide people towards more easy and resilient breathing, so essential to well being and health. In my private practice (NYC and Shelter Island, NY) I am inspired by working with people of all ages and walks of life, with a range of motivations for study. I specialize in working with performance artists, and have been part of the William Esper Acting Studio since 2008. Currently, my private teaching practice is in two locations: Manhattan, NYC; and Shelter Island, NY, east end of Long Island, NY.

Past teaching positions include ImpulsTanz Dance Festival, Vienna, Austria (annually for 15 years); Bard College Graduate Vocal Arts: Mannes College of Music and Actors Studio Drama School, New School Univ, and many more. Over a 30 year period, I held "Inspiration in the Aegean" workshops combining Alexander, movement improvisation, Greek Mythology and language over a period of 30 years.
