About

I see people of all ages, from middle schoolers to seniors. My students include teachers, scientists, software professionals, writers, dancers, retirees, librarians, dental hygienists, chefs, doctors, waiters, artists, and massage therapists. I tailor the lessons to the needs, learning styles and interests of every individual that I work with.  I've been a professional pianist all of my adult life, and have extensive experience working with musicians and vocalists to prevent and resolve playing-related injuries, stage fright, and other issues that performers deal with.

I embarked upon learning the Alexander Technique many years ago, when I was experiencing massive back pain from sitting at the piano, and didn't know where else to turn. The Alexander work helped me immensely, not only in resolving my back pain, but in coping with the stress of daily life.

In my teaching, I take a creative approach to helping my students resolve their problems, whether it's tension headaches, neck and back pain, repetitive stress injuries, or anything else. Over a course of lessons, we work together on how to eliminate the habits that are causing these problems, and they gain the tools to continue to make progress on their own.
