Description

$5 suggested donation. No-one turned away for lack of funds.

You’ve sat down to meditate. That’s it! You’re already “there” with the intention to quiet the self. That’s the practice. You’re focusing on your breath and bringing attention to the present, for 4 minutes, 20 minutes, or however long you’ve got. But the sitting part doesn’t always feel easy for many, whether on the floor on a cushion, in a chair, or using a kneeling stool. In this 90 minute workshop we’ll discuss/explore the postures of meditation, the history, the wisdom and how to find balance — we are always balancing as an ongoing ever-changing action — in these postures; and thus discover physical ease during meditation, as well as, remove the pressure of getting it “right.”

-The anatomy of sitting

-Principles of the Alexander Technique

-Guided Lie Down (constructive rest)

-“Breathing coordination”

-Some movement exploration

-10 minute meditation

(Bring a cushion or kneeling stool if you like, but not required.)
